Whether you are already enjoying having your own smart home or still planning to have one, it is important that you know the three important communication technology that run your smart home. These technologies are different from each other but with their combination a home automation system Malaysia arrived to the world. Thus, these three complement one another.

The first technology that is usually used with smart home automation, which you are probably familiar with, is the WI-FI or wireless fidelity. Most people know what WI-FI is, everyone who has cellphone or laptop knows what it is. This technology is used to access the Internet. This is very popular and most used communication among cellphone and computer users. WI-FI technology is capable of storing and moving great amounts of cyber data within a particular range of the place.

WI-FI technology is based on 802.11 standards. We use Wi-Fi to smart home technology to stream video and audio to the different parts of the house. In setting up a Wi-Fi connection a router is also needed. Router controls the packet of data that are distributed to different computers or smart phones used within the house.

The necessity of WI-FI is clearly established in smart home technology but dealing with large information is just one part of home automation. In automating devices like sending commands such as sprinkling the garden with the automated water sprinkler, another technology called power line communications must be used.

Power line communications are used in sending signals to the existing power lines of your house, like in controlling the lights and appliances. If you want to turn your lights on, this technology sends that command to the lighting control system. The control system of a particular appliance in your house depends greatly on how effective the power lines are. Without this technology automation is impossible.

In turning the lights on and off, the timer of the system uses only small packets of information. Therefore, if you want to save money use technology that is cheaper than WI-FI. In this case, use PLC. This technology like WI-FI can connect different switches and appliances to your controlling network but doesn’t cost a lot.

The last three is the Radio Frequency Technology or RF technology. This technology is used for cordless phones. In short, this is a wireless technology used in controlling different devices of the house remotely. This technology can be worked in conjunction with PLC to make sure that a command is dropped through one system and then transmitted completely.
